Welcome to KWP Limping Leo's, a Golden Oldies Rugby Union team based in Sydney. Founded in 2009 for the World Masters Cup, KWP Limping Leo's is a team of rugby enthusiasts who have a passion for the sport but may no longer be able to keep up with the demands of the game.
The team was formed as part of the KWP Junior Rugby Union by a group of parents who wanted to continue playing rugby and relive the glory days. Their focus is on having fun and playing the game with friends, and their motto “we will always make work on Monday” reflects this laid-back and enjoyable approach.
KWP Limping Leo's is open to anyone over the age of 35, regardless of skill level. Whether you're a seasoned player or new to the game, all are welcome to join. The team meets every Tuesday night for touch rugby, providing a great opportunity to socialise and make new friends. They also participate in about 10 games a year, mostly on Friday nights, allowing players to relive the excitement of their rugby playing past.
The club has grown over the years and now has an alumni of over 100 past and present players. The team hosts the Battle of the North Shore and is a foundation member of Hexagon Rugby. All games take place on the Upper North Shore.
At KWP Limping Leo's, the focus is on fun and creating a welcoming atmosphere. The club values camaraderie, friendship, and creating new memories on and off the field. If you're looking for a place to play rugby, have fun, and make new friends, KWP Limping Leo's is the perfect choice. No experience is necessary, just a sense of humour and a desire to have fun.
