Chinese Kung Fu Academy - Benowa is a sports club located in Gold Coast, offering training in Kung Fu and Tai Chi. Established in 1958, it is the oldest Kung Fu school in Australia and has grown exponentially over the past 50 years. The academy is led by Sifu Henry Sue, a 9th Degree Grandmaster who has been practising martial arts for over 56 years and has been teaching for over half a century.
The academy's training programme focuses on Henry Sue's Circular Tong Long, a unique and practical fighting style that emphasises devastating power and incredible speed. Students can choose to enrol in Kung Fu or Tai Chi programmes, both of which offer challenging workouts, promote self-discipline, and keeps participants motivated. The training environment is safe and supportive, allowing students to learn unbelievable skills, improve their fitness, and achieve better health.
The academy caters to individuals of all ages and fitness levels, making it accessible to everyone. It offers a variety of classes, including Kung Fu, Young Mantis (for kids aged 7-12), Tai Chi, and Lion Dance. All instructors at Chinese Kung Fu Academy - Benowa are accredited with the Australian Kung Fu and Wushu Federation (AKWF), which requires them to undergo sport-specific martial arts coaching training and examination. They are also required to maintain an up-to-date Blue Card to teach children and have a First Aid Certificate.
The instructors follow a strict code of conduct to ensure the safety and security of their students.
