Since 2016, York Swimming Academy has been making waves in York. Founded by James, it’s where anyone—from babies to adults—can dive in and learn to swim. Multiple venues around York mean getting started is a breeze.

With over 30 years of swimming experience behind them, James and his team have taught everyone from non-swimmers to international competitors. They’re all about top-tier lessons that don’t break the bank. Plus, they're big in coach education, working with Swim England and FINA to run clinics globally.

York Swimming Academy has something for everyone. Parents can bring their little ones to their fun Pre-school Lessons, and juniors can progress through a well-rounded seven-stage programme from their first splash to full pool confidence. Older kids can push their limits with Junior Aquatics.

For anyone 16 and up, the Adult Lessons cater to absolute beginners to seasoned swimmers looking to fine-tune their technique. They’ve also got school curriculum swimming lessons covered and are approved by Swim England and the Royal Lifesaving Society for training programmes.

Lessons happen at spots like Carr Junior, New Earswick, Stamford Bridge, and Queen Margaret's—each well-equipped for a safe and enjoyable swim.
