James Cassidy, a well-known yoga instructor based in London, is dedicated to helping individuals discover the power of yoga. He brings a unique approach to teaching, focusing on breath, body, mindfulness, and kirtan.
James has over 20 years of experience in yoga. His journey began with a purely physical practice, but over time he discovered the deeper aspects of yoga, leading to significant changes in his body, breath, mind, and spirit. This connection to yoga took him to India, where he completed a 200-hour Yoga Alliance Teaching Certification with Tribe Yoga, blending ancient teachings with modern anatomy.
James's commitment to learning and growth didn't stop there. He has completed further certifications, including a 500-hour+ Yoga Alliance certification in both India and the UK. James has studied under esteemed teachers like Richard Freeman, Shiva Rea, David Swenson, Jason Crandell, Max Strom, Rod Stryker, Anodea Judith, Manju Jois, and Mimi Kuo Deemer. He has also trained in advanced Yin Yoga with Norman Blair and has studied Buddhist meditation in Dharamsala and at Kopan Monastery in Nepal.
His expertise goes beyond yoga postures and meditation. James has a deep understanding of sound and mantra chanting. He completed a 200-hour training in kirtan leadership with Nikki Slade and now leads regular community kirtan sessions in London, as well as at events and retreats throughout the UK. James is excited to announce that he will lead kirtan at the International Yoga Festival in Rishikesh in 2024.
Alongside his studio and online classes, James offers private tuition at home and workplaces. He also co-leads the 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training at East of Eden, helping aspiring yoga teachers start their journey.
James feels blessed to share his knowledge and passion for yoga with others. He believes yoga extends beyond the mat to all aspects of life. Committed to helping individuals explore the full spectrum of yoga, James aims to support and enhance lives through the practice of yoga.
