“Yoga with Elise, Waikanae, taki, Kapiti” is a yoga instructor based in taki Beach on the Kpiti Coast, just north of Wellington, New Zealand. Elise Curnow, the instructor, is a fully qualified teacher in the classical tradition of Krishnamacharya and his son T. K. V.

Desikachar. She has received training from renowned teachers such as Ruth Diggins, Kausthub Desikachar, and Sacha Kronfeld.

Elise's practise is based on the ancient system of yoga, incorporating breath, movement, sound, and meditation. It focuses on balancing all five layers of the self – Mind, Body, Breath/Energetic, Emotional, and Wisdom. Through her teachings, Elise aims to help individuals be present in their body, breath, and mind, as well as navigate stress, anxiety, and improve relationships both with themselves and others.

Elise has completed 750 hours of Yoga teacher training to obtain her certification with the Krishnamacharya Healing and Yoga Foundation (KHYF). She underwent intensive training with her teacher Ruth Diggins and her sangha, known as the Tahi sangha. Elise is proud to be part of the growing Krishnamacharya yoga lineage and is involved in various training, seminars, and teachings in New Zealand. She is currently undertaking a 1000-hour Yoga Therapy training with Dr.

Kausthub Desikachar, registered with the KHYF in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, and Singapore.
