Yoga Folk is a friendly and welcoming yoga studio located in the heart of Hurstbridge, offering small group classes. Whether you lead a sedentary or active lifestyle, Yoga Folk believes that yoga can add variety to your movement patterns and help you feel better in your body. The studio recognises that in our busy lives, stress relief is crucial, and they aim to provide a space for this and share their love of yoga with others.
At Yoga Folk, they offer a variety of classes to cater to different needs and preferences. One of their classes is Vinyasa, which is a dynamic flow that incorporates alignment, strength, and of course, savasana. This class is perfect for those looking for a strong vinyasa practise. Another class they offer is Yin, a slow-paced style consisting of mostly passive floor poses held for an extended period of time (2-5 minutes).
Yin yoga aims to create a space that offers mental and emotional benefits, making it an ideal choice for those feeling stressed or simply wanting to maintain their equilibrium.
Yoga Folk also provides private classes for individuals who are beginners or more experienced yogis looking to deepen their practise. These classes are tailored to fit individual yoga goals, ensuring personalised attention and guidance. To schedule a private class, individuals can contact Louise, the studio owner, for a chat or drop her an email.
The Vinyasa classes at Yoga Folk are currently held on Wednesdays at 7pm at EDN Dance Company. The studio also offers a casual rate of $20 per class for those who prefer flexibility with their attendance. To book a class or for any inquiries, individuals can contact Louise through phone or email. For easy and convenient payment, Yoga Folk accepts online payments through PayPal.
Louise, the instructor at Yoga Folk, first started practising yoga to assist with a shoulder injury. However, it was the calmness she felt after each class that got her hooked on yoga. She believes in the transformative power of the breath and the positive impact it can have on both the mind and body, both on and off the mat. Louise completed Vinyasa Teacher Training with Power Living and additional Yin training.
She is currently continuing her studies with Ihana Yoga. Despite having no dance or sport background, Louise assures everyone that yoga is for everyone.
Whether you're looking for a strong vinyasa practise, a calming yin class, or personalised attention in a private session, Yoga Folk welcomes all individuals, regardless of their level of experience or background. The studio aims to provide a nurturing space where individuals can move their bodies, still their minds, and find balance and tranquilly. Contact Louise at Yoga Folk to experience the benefits of yoga in a supportive and friendly environment.
