Yoga Studio “Yogacita” is located in the heart of Liverpool's creative district, the Baltic Triangle. Situated on the 1st floor of the beautifully converted Old Gun Factory, Yogacita offers a dedicated space for yoga practise. With a spacious 2,500 sq ft warehouse studio, it is the first of its kind in the area.
The studio runs classes 7 days a week, led by a team of 14 experienced instructors. They offer a variety of yoga styles, with a focus on non-hot classes for the moment, but are looking to introduce hot classes in the autumn. Yogacita is also proud to offer Yoga Alliance accredited teacher training courses (TTCs) and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) courses.
The Old Gun Factory has been sympathetically converted to create the perfect environment for yoga practise. The studio space retains its original character, with open brickwork and an immense furnace chimney providing a unique backdrop. The communal areas are warm and inviting, with low-level lighting and associated ambient smells for each area.
The changing rooms at Yogacita convey an industrial chic feel, complete with top-of-the-range copper rainwater showers and full locker room facilities. Guests are provided with everything they need, from shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel to hairdryers and straighteners. Two hours of free on-street parking are also available for convenient access.
The studio itself is heated to a comfortable and moderate 32 degrees Celsius. The ventilation system brings in fresh air and heats it to the ambient temperature, ensuring a well-oxygenated environment. Yogacita uses state-of-the-art infra-red panel heaters, creating a tropical paradise-like experience during hot classes. Practising yoga in a heated room enhances the sense of peace and relaxation, allowing students to fully immerse themselves in their practise.
In addition to hot classes, Yogacita offers a range of non-hot classes. These include yin yang dynamic yoga, which combines yin poses with a flow sequence; yin, a gentle practise with long-held postures; traditional Indian hatha yoga, focused on breathwork and inversions; and a candlelit class on Thursday evenings for a gentle restorative practise. Mats, towels, water, and other essentials are available for hire or purchase.
The class timetable at Yogacita is varied, offering 18 classes with 14 regular teachers. Each teacher brings a unique style and approach to their classes, allowing students to explore different styles of yoga. The studio also offers an introductory offer, providing unlimited classes over a 30-day period, allowing students to try out all the different classes and find their preferred style.
With its dedication to building a yoga community in Liverpool's creative district, Yogacita offers a welcoming and inclusive space for yoga practitioners of all levels. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced yogi, there is a class for everyone to enjoy and explore.
