Yoga Bright, based in Cambridge, is led by Lisa, a dedicated yogi and mother of three. With over 20 years of experience in practising yoga, Lisa discovered the transformative power of yoga and meditation in improving both her physical and emotional health. Motivated by her own journey and the positive impact yoga had on her life, Lisa felt compelled to share this practise with others.
In 2018, Lisa was diagnosed with PTSD and found that yoga was the key to keeping her emotional wellbeing intact. This experience further fueled her desire to deepen her knowledge and understanding of yoga. In 2019, she completed her 200-hour yoga teacher training and has continued to expand her learning ever since. With her extensive knowledge and experience, Lisa is passionate about creating a supportive and inclusive community where individuals can unite their bodies and minds.
Lisa's classes are trauma-informed and accessible to people of all ages and abilities. She holds various qualifications, including Yoga Therapy for PTSD, 200-hour Vinyasa Yoga, 300-hour Hatha Yoga and Meditation, 40-hour Yin Yoga, 40-hour Baby and Postnatal Yoga, Breathwork/Pranayama, and Reiki Healing. Lisa seamlessly weaves all her expertise together to provide a safe and nurturing environment for her students.
Yoga Bright offers a range of classes to cater to different needs. One such class is Chair Yoga, held on Tuesdays at Waterbeach Barracks Community Room. Chair yoga is a gentle form of yoga that can be done while sitting on a chair or standing with the support of a chair. This class is suitable for individuals with mobility challenges or specific medical needs.
It provides improved flexibility, mobility, strength, and mental health benefits, helping individuals enhance their everyday lives.
For mums and babies, Yoga Bright offers Baby and Postnatal Yoga classes at William Collyn Community Centre in Girton on Wednesdays. These classes provide a safe space for mums and babies from 6 weeks old to crawling. Lisa creates a calm and relaxed community space where mums can connect with their babies and learn their individual needs. Through gentle breathwork, movement, and meditation, mums can strengthen their bond with their babies while enjoying the support of other like-minded mothers.
Yoga Bright also offers Stretch and Release Yoga, suitable for beginners or those looking to feel more empowered in their yoga practise. Held on Wednesdays at Waterbeach Barracks Studio, this class guides participants through a gentle sequence of core postures. Lisa focuses on building confidence in each posture and teaches breathwork techniques to enhance inner calm. This class is designed to empower individuals and help them develop a strong foundation in their practise.
In addition to the regular yoga classes, Yoga Bright also provides Adventurous Baby Yoga on Fridays at Tillage Hall in Waterbeach. This class combines movement, massage, and play to support the development and growth of babies. Through songs, massage techniques, and movement exercises, parents can learn how to help their babies thrive and have fun in a supportive environment.
Whether it's chair yoga, baby and postnatal yoga, or stretch and release yoga, Yoga Bright aims to create a welcoming atmosphere for everyone. Lisa's passion for yoga shines through in her classes and her commitment to creating a positive and empowering experience for her students is evident.
