Yoga is much more than just physical postures and poses. The word “Yoga” comes from the Sanskrit word “Yuj,” which means to yoke, join, or unite. It is a practise that integrates all aspects of the individual mind, body, and spirit to bring about a happy and balanced life. While the physical aspect of yoga, known as “asana,” is commonly practised in the West, there are seven other “Limbs” of Yoga according to Patanjali's “Yoga Sutras,” which focus on mental and spiritual well-being.
The benefits of yoga are extensive and diverse. Whether you're looking to gain strength and flexibility, heal from physical injuries, reduce stress, or gain a deeper understanding of life, yoga can benefit anyone. As B. K.
S Iyengar famously said, “If you can breathe, you can practise Yoga. ” Regular yoga practise can lead to increased strength, stamina, and flexibility, reduced stress and anxiety, improved concentration, increased energy and vitality, boosted self-esteem, and improved posture.
At Yoga Bodhi, we prioritise the overall well-being of our students. Join our community and experience the transformative power of yoga. Namaste.
