Wild Gypsea Wellness, the Yoga club in Elwood, invites interested players to join them for their upcoming Yoga Movement Therapy event. Led by the club's founder, Eva Büman, this healing practice aims to say goodbye to aches and pains, heal injuries, and restore participants' quality of life.
Eva's journey towards Yoga Movement Therapy started after a life-altering accident left her in a wheelchair. Through her own experience, she worked with different movement specialists and gained valuable insights into unlocking free, comfortable, and intelligent movement. Her approach focuses on understanding and addressing the individual needs of each participant, placing their recovery and mobility at the forefront, rather than prioritising repeat visits for financial gain.
Eva's extensive experience includes working with renowned organisations such as Womens Sports Australia, Tennis Australia, and Special Forces personnel. This enables her to offer healing services that cater to a wide range of needs.
Beyond movement therapy, Eva has also immersed herself in the art of Traditional Tibetan Energy Healing and Medicine Bowls. She has undergone extensive training and initiations in these ancient practices with Tibetan The Venerable Lobsang Lama Tendar. Additionally, Eva is trained in Reiki Healing Level 1 and 2 by renowned Reiki Master Annie Slaughter.
Eva's journey with Yoga began in 2003, while studying a Bachelor of Applied Health Science in Melbourne. Over the years, she has delved deep into yogic philosophy, making it an integral part of her lifestyle. Despite holding high-pressure international management positions in the Netherlands, her passion for health and wellbeing always brought her back to yoga, science, and healing modalities.
Having traveled the world to teach, practice, and study, Eva has studied under Swami Yogananda Maharaji, who was 107 years old at the time, in India. She completed her 200-hour Hatha, Meditation, and Physiology teacher training there. Returning to Melbourne, Eva went on to obtain the highest level of internationally recognised Yoga Teacher qualifications.
Eva's expertise in yoga extends beyond physical practice, as she has collaborated with international psychologists and major mental health groups in Australia to integrate yoga and mindfulness as clinical tools. She has spoken at conferences about the positive effects of yoga practice for individuals suffering from PTSD, anxiety, and depression. Her collaboration with psychologists aims to optimise their patients' wellbeing, especially concerning neurology.
With a strong background in competitive sports at state and national levels, Eva brings a fun and dynamic approach to her classes. Recognising the intimate connection between the body and mind, she combines scientifically researched benefits to cater to all levels of yogis. Additionally, Eva is the founder, principal teacher, and coordinator of the renowned 550-hour Yoga Teacher Training (YTT) pathway offered by The Australian Institute of Yoga & Yoga Therapies. Alongside other specialists, doctors, and inspiring teachers, Eva is devoted to reviving yoga's medicinal and therapeutic roots.
Eva's clients include military groups, veterans, Mackillop Family Services, Head Space (Orygen), Mindd Australia, Tennis Australia (Australian Open Coaches Conference), VicRoads, various CEOs, and corporate coaches. Her determination lies in promoting the profound system of yoga and its specific mechanisms for enhancing well-being in modern times.
