Yoga 7 St Swithun's, a well-known yoga club in Worcester, offers an array of yoga classes that cater to individuals of all levels and abilities. The popularity of yoga has been skyrocketing lately due to its extensive health benefits, so much so that doctors are now recommending it as a holistic alternative to medication. However, we understand that some people may feel a bit apprehensive about attending a yoga class, unsure of what to expect or if it's even suitable for them. But fear not! Yoga 7 is here to provide you with a safe and non-judgmental environment to experience yoga.
If attending a yoga class still makes you a tad uncomfortable, fret not as Yoga 7 also offers personal tuition. You can choose to have the classes in the comfort of your own home or in their home studio. The flexibility is yours to decide!
Each class at Yoga 7 is tailored to meet the unique needs of every individual. The breathing techniques taught in the classes progress over time, starting with deep abdominal breathing. The postures practised in each class vary and can be modified to suit your specific requirements, with options available for higher or lower intensity. To assist with certain postures, Yoga 7 provides props such as blocks, chairs, and straps.
The class begins with deep abdominal breathing, followed by alternate nostril breathing (anuloma vuloma) with and without retention. As you become more familiar with this style of breathing, the retention is increased. After regular practice with alternate nostril breathing, typically lasting for at least two months or until you're comfortable, more advanced techniques like Kapalabhati breathing are introduced. Please note that these advanced techniques should not be practised at home without supervision.
At Yoga 7, inclusivity and non-competitiveness are key. We believe in creating an environment where individuals feel comfortable and supported. Every class allows for personalised modifications, with options for postures that are based on how you feel on any given day. It's essential to listen to your body and work with it, rather than against it, as the body's needs may vary from day to day.
We are especially proud of Claire Swaffield, our experienced yoga teacher at Yoga 7. Claire views yoga as more than just a physical practice; she sees it as a spiritual journey. She has received certification from the International Yoga Alliance and is dedicated to sharing her passion for yoga with others. You're in good hands with Claire!
In conclusion, Yoga 7 St Swithun's offers a warm and supportive environment for individuals of all yoga levels. Whether you're a beginner or have prior experience with yoga, we have options available to suit your needs. So why wait? Book a class today and embark on the incredible physical and mental benefits that yoga has to offer.
