Capricorn Equestrian Centre is excited to announce the upcoming Yarraman Charity Gymkhana on Sunday, October 20th, 2024. With increased prize money up for grabs, participants can nominate themselves for a chance to win some extra cash. This event wouldn't be possible without the tremendous support of our sponsors and raffle prize donors. Last year, we raised an impressive $9400, which was split equally and donated to the Leukaemia Foundation and the Rockhampton Riding for the Disabled.
The main gymkhana will feature a variety of entertaining games, including the Sack Race, Egg and Spoon Race, and many more. Rules for these games can be found in the Sporting Gymkhana Rule book, with Pony Club Australia guidelines in place for gear checks. The event will be held at 291 Mt. Wheeler Road, Via Mackays Rd, Bondoola. Nominations for the gymkhana games can be completed online, with assistance available from Madeline for those in need.
There will be different categories such as U17 Junior Barrels, Obstacle Trail Course, and feature events with separate nomination fees for adults and juniors. Participants can enter multiple events to increase their chances of winning. Walk trot groups will cater to those who prefer a slower pace, and team fancy dress is an option to add to the fun atmosphere.
All riders must wear helmets, with the option to replace old helmets at the event for $55, refunded upon return. The event is open to both members and non-members of associations, with Horse Health Declaration forms required on the day. Lunch, coffee, cake, and raffle tickets will be available for purchase, with fantastic prizes up for grabs. Small businesses are encouraged to donate raffle prizes.
