Capricorn Equestrian Centre in Livingstone Shire invites horse enthusiasts to join renowned horse trainer Dan Steers from Double Dan Horsemanship for a 5 Day Colt Starting Camp. Using the tried and tested training techniques developed and taught by Double Dan Horsemanship, Dan Steers has achieved success in colt starting competitions all over the world. This clinic offers a unique opportunity for participants and their young horses to work closely with Dan Steers to kickstart a successful ridden career.
During the 5-day clinic, participants will learn various essential skills including ground control, desensitisation, long reining, and body control under saddle. This comprehensive approach ensures a solid foundation for your horse's future training and performance.
To participate in this exciting clinic, interested individuals need to bring their own unbroken horse that is of a suitable age and condition to progress to riding. The clinic has a limited capacity of 8 positions, and both mares and geldings are welcome. The cost of participation, which includes lunch, morning and afternoon teas, bush camping facilities for riders, and a yard for one horse, will be announced soon. For those who wish to observe the clinic without bringing a horse, fence sitters are also welcome. The price for fence sitters is to be announced per day or a special rate for the full 5 days. Participants are advised to bring their own comfy chair for fence sitting.
