Woodlea Rink, located in Red Deer, offers a delightful skating experience for residents and visitors alike. Each site is meticulously maintained by the Parks section, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all skaters.
The outdoor rink sites include both boarded rinks for hockey/ringette and snowbank rinks for leisure skating. In addition, Red Deer is home to a natural skating pond at Bower Ponds and a speed skating oval at Great Chief Park. Please note that hockey sticks and pucks are not allowed on the ponds or ovals for safety reasons.
Neighbourhood Activity Centres, also known as skate shacks, are operated by individual community associations and provide a warm and welcoming environment for skaters. Booking information for skate shacks can be found on the Neighbourhood Activity Centres page. While not all outdoor rinks have benches, visitors are encouraged to bring their own chairs for seating or tying skates.
