Seriously at Woodham Ferrers Swimming Club. We prioritise the safety and well-being of all our members, ensuring a supportive and inclusive environment for everyone involved. Our club follows the necessary safeguarding policies and guidelines to ensure the protection of swimmers, coaches, and volunteers.
At Woodham Ferrers Swimming Club, we embrace swimmers of all abilities and ages, starting from 8 years old to adults. Our aim is to develop swimmers in all four disciplines, whether it is for fitness, enjoyment, or competition. We have a team of highly qualified coaches and teachers who are dedicated to nurturing and enhancing the abilities of our swimmers.
We provide opportunities for swimmers to compete at various levels, from low-level competitions to county-level competitions. Our adult swimmers have the option to participate in open water swimming, with the guidance of our experienced open water coach. We also have a competitive Masters presence and welcome triathletes.
As an expanding club, we have already produced county and regional qualifying swimmers. Our committee and qualified team of teachers are here to support and assist our coaches in their roles. We provide ample training sessions throughout the week, including early morning and evening sessions. Accompanying teams and swimmers to competitions is also a part of the role, with flexibility provided for coverage if needed.
Woodham Ferrers Swimming Club has been a prominent club in South Woodham Ferrers since the establishment of the swimming pool in 2005. Our dedicated committee and volunteers have been instrumental in the success and administration of the club over the years.
We are currently seeking a Level 2 swimming coach to join us on a self-employed basis, as one of our coaches is approaching retirement. The ideal candidate should have a passion for swimming and benefit from a competitive background. The role will involve approximately 12 swim sessions per week, including early morning, evening, and Sunday sessions. Administering registers and other records, providing input to the club committee, and supporting team selection for gala events are also part of the responsibilities.
Woodham Ferrers Swimming Club also welcomes individuals who are interested in supporting and developing the club through various committee roles. Whether you have a finance background or a desire to support young people in reaching their swimming potential, you are encouraged to get in touch with our committee.
The welfare of our swimmers is of utmost importance to us. If you have any concerns or questions regarding the welfare of a swimmer, please do not hesitate to contact us.
