Woking Rugby Football Club – Ground, located in West Byfleet, is the home of Woking RFC. The club has a rich history, with its roots dating back to 1931 as Vickers RFC, which later became BAC RFC and British Aerospace RFC. In the early 1990s, the club took over the running of the old social club and was reformed as Woking RFC.
The club has made significant strides since its inception and has achieved several promotions, rising from Surrey League 5 to Surrey League 1. During this time, Woking RFC reached the last 16 of the national junior cup competition. The rugby committee also successfully managed the former BAe pavilion and grounds, transforming it from a loss-making concern to breaking even.
Following the expiry of the lease granted by BAe, Woking RFC relocated to the Byfleet recreation ground in 1993. The club currently hires two pitches from Woking Borough Council.
The Woking RFC grounds at West Byfleet provide excellent facilities for both players and spectators. The Rugby field is well-maintained, providing a safe and enjoyable playing surface. The grounds also feature fully equipped changing facilities, ensuring the comfort and convenience of players.
Woking RFC welcomes players of all skill levels and ages. The club is proud to offer opportunities for both senior and junior players. Currently, Woking RFC runs two senior sides, with playing numbers steadily increasing. Despite the transient nature of many Woking borough residents, the club remains committed to fostering a strong rugby community and is open to the establishment of additional senior sides in the future.
