Woden Thunder Athletics is a newly merged sports club in Canberra, Australia. The club is a combination of Woden Little Athletics Club and Woden Athletics Club, bringing together the resources and expertise of both clubs to benefit all members. This exciting move aims to improve the delivery of athletics in the Woden region.
One of the main advantages of the merger is that athletes in the 12 to 17 age group will no longer have to register with two separate clubs to compete on Saturday mornings and at Summer Series meets. This streamlines the registration process and provides a more cohesive experience for young athletes. Additionally, the merger allows for the consolidation of resources, enabling the club to offer a wider range of offerings to its members.
Woden Thunder Athletics offers membership to individuals of all ages, ranging from 5 to 99 years. Whether you are looking to compete, keep fit, or simply have fun with friends, you are most welcome at our club. The club caters to various athletic disciplines, including running, jumping, throwing, and walking, both on the track and in the field.
To become a member, simply register through the Capital Athletics registration portal. Please note that the registration system is still being updated to reflect the merger, so when registering, choose Woden Little Athletics Club as the club to accept your registration. For athletes aged 18 and above, select 'Adult (18+) 365 days' under the Registration Product. For athletes aged 50 and above, decide 'Concession (50+) 365 days'.
