Steeplechase is an obstacle race that can be competed in at the Olympics. In steeplechase the athletes must run around the track whilst clearing several obstacles and jumping across water over a distance of 2000m or 3000m. Steeplechase been an athletics event in the Modern Olympics since its inception in 1896.
