At Wing Chun Kung Fu Harrow, we offer classes for both adults and children. Our adult classes are suitable for individuals aged 13 and above, regardless of their age, gender, or physical fitness level. We believe that Wing Chun is a martial art that can be learned and practised by anyone.
Our classes are structured to provide a comprehensive learning experience. Each class is divided into six core subjects: forms, sparring, chi sao, punches, footwork, and theory. By focusing on these areas, our students develop a well-rounded skill set and a deep understanding of Wing Chun Kung Fu.
Our Wing Chun Kung Fu self-defence training in Harrow is divided into three phases. In phase one, beginner level grades 1-4, students are introduced to the art of Wing Chun and learn the basics of the six core subjects. They also receive training in dealing with stand-up fighters through our beginner fighting programmes.
In phase two, intermediate level grades 5-8, students focus on close quarter combat techniques. They learn the second form, expand their chi sao training, and gain skills in controlling opponents at a close range. This phase also includes training in anti-grappling, anti-throwing, and anti-ground techniques.
Phase three, advanced level grades 9-12, explores specialised areas of self-defence. Students learn how to deal with counter kicking, knives, and other striking implements. They also learn techniques for handling situations with multiple opponents.
As students progress through each phase, they have the opportunity to participate in gradings to assess their skills and knowledge. Once they pass a phase, they can move on to the next level of training. The ultimate goal for dedicated students is to achieve the level of Master of Wing Chun by perfecting their skills and knowledge.
