Welcome to Wilsonian Sailing Club, the perfect place to sail, relax, and enjoy our club both on and off the water. Located on the north shore of the River Medway near the village of Hoo, Wilsonian Sailing Club is proud to be one of the largest clubs solely for dinghy sailors in Kent.
Nestled in a woodland area on a south-facing hillside, our club offers a picturesque setting with a shingle beach where you can launch and recover dinghies at any stage of the tide. With a focus on being a friendly and welcoming club, we extend open arms to visitors and new members.
Membership is open to families, with an annual fee of only 221. Currently, our membership comprises approximately 160 adults and 30 juniors. As an RYA Affiliated club, we have our own established RYA Recognised Training Centre, providing dinghy sailing and powerboating courses to all club members or those affiliated with the RYA.
At Wilsonian Sailing Club, we offer a comprehensive range of activities for both juniors and adults. Our racing events start from a fixed line in front of the club, while our cruising activities are timed around high tides and allow members to explore areas of the river not usually visited during races. We also offer training courses for those looking to improve their skills.
In addition to sailing, our club hosts a variety of social events throughout the year. From meals and quizzes to talks and get-togethers, there is always something happening at Wilsonian Sailing Club. We also have specific programmes for under 18's called “Saturday Skimmers” and a Junior Week, which includes coaching, games, and our Junior Regatta.
