SLY Taekwon-do operates in various venues in Chatham, providing a convenient and accessible location for students to train. The school is a member of the Advanced TaeKwon-Do International (ATI) and the Advanced Taekwon-do Europe (ATEU), both founded with the aim of creating an effective combat system suitable for self-defence and personal development. Joining ATI allows students to continue their training well into their senior years without concerns about joint and muscle damage.

Chief Instructor Laszlo Butty has a wealth of experience and expertise in Taekwon-do. His journey began as a child, exploring various martial arts disciplines until he discovered Taekwondo in 1990. From there, Laszlo dedicated himself to training, eventually achieving his 1st Dan Black Belt in 1998. Not only did he excel in his own training, but he also became a Vice President of a Martial Arts School, leading children's classes and guiding his students to remarkable results at national and international competitions.
To further enhance his teaching, Laszlo trained with renowned instructors from North Korea, honing his skills and learning Korean-style workout training. Alongside his training, Laszlo also completed his university studies in Information Technology Engineering and Economics. His dedication to Taekwon-do and his continual pursuit of excellence make him a highly respected Chief Instructor.
