Welcome to Wild Studio! We are a community-driven yoga studio located in Phillip, Australia. Our mission is to celebrate movement, connexion, and sustainability while helping you develop a healthy mind/body connexion and elevate your overall wellbeing.
At Wild Studio, we take a holistic approach to yoga, grounding our practise in traditional lineages while incorporating modern, scientifically-backed research to optimise and foster self-connectivity. We believe that yoga is a spiritual process that can enhance your physical, mental, and emotional health.
We are committed to creating a healthy and sustainable studio environment. Whenever possible, we use natural, locally sourced materials and props, and support local initiatives and sustainable businesses. Our aim is to make every decision with your health and the environment in mind.
Julieanne is one of our passionate yoga instructors who teaches classes suitable for all levels of experience. Her focus is on encouraging students to love and look after themselves. She believes that everyone can feel comfortable exploring their own practise, regardless of their age, flexibility, or fitness level. After years of teaching fast-paced flows, Julieanne discovered Yin yoga and fell in love with it.
She now incorporates Yin elements into her classes whenever she can.
Matty, another one of our instructors, explores the balance between strength, stability, ease, and grace in his flowing sequences. As a strength and conditioning coach, Matty started practising yoga in 2013 to enhance his mobility. He quickly realised the benefits of yoga in improving sporting performance, providing mental clarity, and reducing the risk of injury. Matty combines yoga with weightlifting, powerlifting, crossfit, and gymnastics to create a unique and empowering practise.
Mel, one of our energetic instructors, loves connexions, transitions, and exploring the full range of human experience. Her classes are authentic, energetic, and playful. Mel enjoys teaching creative sequencing and inspiring students to deepen their personal practise while keeping the classes relatable. She believes that yoga is about finding freedom in every sense of the word and emphasises the importance of perspective and gratitude throughout her teaching.
Katie, also known as Durga, is a champion of rest and peace. Her teaching style focuses on the more subtle practises of meditation, mantra, restorative yoga, yin yoga, and Himalayan kundalini yoga. Katie's yoga journey started over 25 years ago in India, which greatly influences her teaching. She also specialises in teaching pre and postnatal women and helping women with breast cancer navigate their journeys with yoga and meditation.
Shan, one of our instructors, is all about healthy functional movement. Her pilates classes are strong, precise, and focused on educating clients on body awareness and movement. Shan is also an avid mountain biker and runner, and she believes that pilates is a valuable addition to any fitness regimen. She believes that pilates can create muscle tone, improve mobility, and strengthen the whole body from the inside out.
Sarah, another one of our teachers, is a well-rounded wellness professional. She wears many hats, including being a teacher, student, and bodyworker. Sarah's standout qualities lie in who she is as a person. She approaches life with passion, ambition, and energy, and her authentic and inspiring demeanour makes her a popular choice among students.
Sarah is open, kind, connected, and brings a unique combination of fire and earth to her teaching.
We hope you'll join us at Wild Studio for an enriching and transformative yoga experience.
