Welcome to Whitstable Yacht Club (WYC), one of the oldest and largest sailing clubs in England. Located on the picturesque north coast of Kent, where the Thames Estuary meets the North Sea, WYC offers fantastic sailing opportunities in sheltered waters at all times of the tide. With a variety of sailing options available, including catamarans, dinghies, windsurfers, and nearby yachts in creeks that dry out, WYC caters to sailors of all levels.

At WYC, we not only focus on sailing, but also provide a wide range of social activities for our members. We believe in fostering a sense of community and creating opportunities for sailors and social members alike to connect and have fun.
- UFFA Yachtings Eccentric Genius: Join us on Friday, 19th January 2024 at 7. 30pm for a fascinating talk by sailing author Malcolm Turner about Uffa Fox, the renowned sailor and boat designer. Malcolm's book, UFFA Yachtings Eccentric Genius, has received widespread acclaim and this event is a great opportunity to learn more about this legendary figure in the sailing world.
- Tuesday Nights – Games Evening: Every Tuesday from 7pm, we invite you to join us for an evening filled with laughter, friendly competition, and games such as Mexican train dominoes and cribbage. Feel free to bring your own games too! It's a perfect occasion to relax, have a bit of wine, and enjoy some quality time with friends.
- Wednesday Nights – Pool League Games: From 8pm onwards, our WYC pool teams compete in league games. Come and support your favourite team or inquire at the bar about joining a team if you're interested.
- 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month - WYC Book Club: For book enthusiasts, we have two book club groups that meet on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month. Whether you're a sailor or a social member, it's a wonderful opportunity to discuss books, meet new people, and expand your literary horizons. To join, contact Kellie Grey at 079 6604 6693.
- Thursday Night – Open Pool Nights: Every Thursday from 7pm, we host an open pool night for individuals over 16 years old. It's a relaxed and friendly atmosphere where you can enjoy a game of pool. The winner stays on unless the players present want to change.
- 1st and 3rd Monday of the month – Art Club: Starting on the 5th of December, our art club is a great opportunity for creative individuals to gather, explore new artistic skills, and socialise with fellow members. - 1st & 3rd Thursday of the month – Music Club: If you're musically inclined, we have a music club that meets on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of each month from 7:30 to 10pm. We welcome guitarists, singers, keyboardists, drummers, and any other musicians looking to jam together. Our aim is to showcase 24 songs during each gig we organise at the club. - Coffee Club: Our coffee club meets every morning from 10:30 in the sea room, providing a friendly and relaxed environment for members to socialise over a cup of coffee. All WYC members are welcome to join.
