The Whitby Lawn Bowling Club, established in 1927, is a historic and thriving club located in the heart of Whitby, Canada. Celebrating its 97th year, the club offers a welcoming and inclusive environment for lawn bowling enthusiasts of all ages and skill levels.
As the new season begins in May, members can look forward to friendly games, tournaments, and fundraising events throughout the year. The club values the spirit of camaraderie and sportsmanship, creating a sense of community among its members and supporters.
One unique feature of the Whitby Lawn Bowling Club is the option for substitute players in interclub tournaments. This allows players, particularly seniors, to continue participating in tournaments without having to play three full games. Interested players can register their substitute player with Gary Ros, the tournament coordinator.
The club hosts a variety of interclub tournaments sponsored by local businesses, providing opportunities for friendly competition and networking. From mixed triples to pairs and singles matches, there is a tournament for everyone to enjoy. The results of past tournaments are proudly displayed on the clubs website, showcasing the skill and sportsmanship of the participants.
