Whirl & Twirl Round Dance Club in Cambridge invites you to step into the world of ballroom and round dancing. Founded by Ted and Irene Baldry in 2007, the club initially started to give local square dancers a chance to learn rounds. Under the expert guidance of Stephen and Suzanne, it has blossomed into a welcoming community for dancers of all ages and skill levels.
Whether you're a novice or a seasoned dancer, you'll find a supportive environment where you can learn at your own pace. Stephen and Suzanne ensure dancers get the instruction they need to shine on the dance floor, from the classic Waltz to the fiery Rumba and the dramatic Tango.
The club isn’t just about lessons. Whirl & Twirl also organises social events that strengthen family bonds and camaraderie among members. From the popular Paso Doable to the lively Spring Fling and the spooky Halloween Fancy Dress, these events create lasting memories and a vibrant community spirit.
During the pandemic, Stephen and Suzanne kept the dance spirit alive by producing guidelines for safe dancing and creating dance videos, including fun beach sessions. Now, the club is back in action with Wednesday evening dances and a new monthly Sunday afternoon session.
