Welcome to West Denton Indoor Bowls Club! Established in 2004 by Sir Bobby Robson, West Denton IBC is a vibrant and inclusive bowling club located in the outer west area of Newcastle. Our aim is to provide a range of social and competitive playing opportunities, encouraging growth in the sport for all members of the community.
With over 500 members, we value our community deeply and believe they are the most valuable asset to our organisation. Rather than relying solely on dedicated staff, we operate on a cooperative working model, empowering our members to take an active role in delivering services for themselves. We always welcome new volunteers in all aspects of the business and are committed to training and developing individuals for future roles.
Our long-term vision is to promote excellence and foster a sense of achievement in the sport of bowls. We strive to not only excel at the county, national, and international level but also to promote the development side of the sport. We want to ensure that anyone and everyone has the opportunity to enjoy and improve their skills in indoor bowls.
Located conveniently close to the A1 and A69 road networks, we offer excellent access to public transport. Our facilities include a fully licenced bar, an international standard lighting system, a spectator area, and a café that offers a variety of drinks, snacks, and hot meals. Our main indoor bowls hall boasts 8 rinks to international standards, with separate male and female changing areas. We also provide secure lockers for rent, an electronic scoreboard, and a fully accessible air vented heating and air conditioning system.
Parking is ample, making it easy for members and visitors to access our club. The location is also ideal for those using Newcastle Airport and Central Railway Station.
