Established in 1996 as the Afan Lido Kickboxing & Karate Club, the organisation changed its name to the Welsh Kickboxing Organisation (WKO) in 2017. The history of WKO traces back to its founder, the late Shihan Ritchie Noblett, an esteemed 8th Dan Karate expert and a pioneer of British karate.
