This luxurious indoor pool measures 40 feet long by 15 feet wide, with a uniform depth of 4 feet 6 inches, providing the perfect swimming environment for exercise or family fun.
To ensure maximum comfort, the pool is equipped with under-floor heating throughout. The changing rooms are totally private and come with showers and hairdryers. Disabled facilities are also available, including semicircular steps for easy access.
At Wash Farm Barn, water management is based on continuous ozone cleaning, resulting in minimal use of chlorine and enhancing the overall swimming experience. The water temperature is maintained at a warm and welcoming 90-91 degrees Fahrenheit.
The history of Wash Farm Barn dates back to the 1800s when the Edwards family began farming in Redlingfield. This timber-framed barn, central to their agricultural activities, was transformed into a luxury swimming pool complex by Trevor and Anita Edwards. A Conservation Officer allowed for the relocation of an ancient threshing floor to the pool's viewing area, and full-height windows replaced the wagon doors, allowing natural daylight to flood in. Swimmers can enjoy the view of beautifully restored rafters as they swim.
Adjacent to the pool, you will find changing rooms that were created from the restoration of single-story buildings surrounding a car-parking area. This configuration gives the complex a pleasant courtyard effect. The use of timber cladding and reclaimed pan-tile roofing preserves the barn's rustic Suffolk history.
For private use, Wash Farm Barn offers time slots of 18 per half hour water time, plus an additional 15 minutes for entering and exiting, totalling one hour. Each booking runs for a quarter of the year and is renewable upon request. If a preferred time slot is unavailable, customers can join the waiting list or inquire about one-off pool party bookings.
Water Lilies Swimming School also operates at Wash Farm Barn. With over 20 years of experience as a qualified swim instructor, Teresa, also known as “Treacle,” started her own swimming school in 2007. Water Lilies offers small group sessions for children, as well as one-to-one and two-to-one sessions for adults and children in a peaceful and serene environment.
