Worlington Cricket Club, nestled in the beautiful Suffolk countryside of Bury Saint Edmunds, holds a cherished spot within the village community. Celebrating its 200th year in 2014, the club remains committed to community engagement, fundraising activities, and promoting sports for children.
Bob, the organiser, ensures the club stays integrated with local life by organising events and fundraisers, reciprocated by generous community support. The club's dedication is evident in its three Saturday Men’s teams competing in Division 1, 5, and 9 of the Two Counties cricket league, accommodating players of all skill levels. There's also a Sunday academy team in the Hunts County Suffolk league and a Ladies team playing 20-over matches on Sunday mornings in the West Suffolk Ladies Development League.
Worlington Cricket Club's thriving Junior section features teams in U9, U11, U13, and U17 leagues, with summer training sessions for children aged 4 to 15, including girls-only groups. The club focuses on both squad performance and developing a strong youth training programme.
Bob invites anyone interested in cricket, community events, or simply supporting the club to reach out. And don’t miss the annual Beer & Cider Festival during the August Bank Holiday, a key event and major fundraiser for the club.
