Affiliated with Bowls England, Surrey County BA, Surrey County Womens BA, North West Surrey BA, and West Surrey BA, the club is dedicated to promoting and enjoying the sport of lawn bowls.
At Walton-on-Thames Bowling Club, lawn bowls is not just a game, but a way to challenge oneself, enjoy physical and mental activity, and socialise with other members. The game, known for its skill and accuracy rather than physical strength, can be played at all levels, from competitive matches to casual social events. Novice and experienced bowlers alike are always welcome, and the club offers FREE coaching sessions for beginners and those looking to improve their skills. Every Tuesday, the club opens its doors from 2pm, inviting members and their guests to enjoy a “roll-up” session with light refreshments available. Feel free to drop by during this time and introduce yourself to other members. If Tuesday is not convenient, the club is open most days, and alternative arrangements can be made. Additionally, the club hosts various events throughout the year, with the highlight being the Elite Elton Elton John Tribute event on Saturday, 22nd June 2024.

Walton-on-Thames Bowling Club also organises Lawn Bowls fun OPEN DAYS in 2024, providing an opportunity for interested individuals to try the sport. No experience or equipment is necessary, as the club provides everything needed. Apart from the joys of playing bowls, health professionals recommend the sport for its numerous benefits, including improved fitness, coordination and skill development, increased confidence and self-esteem, enhanced mental well-being, and community connectedness and support.
The Club, located on the Elm Grove Recreation Ground in Walton-on-Thames, has continuously improved its clubhouse and green over the years, thanks to the efforts of its dedicated members. With approximately 80 members, including life, associate, and social members, the club offers a friendly and welcoming environment for all bowlers. Outdoor season at Walton-on-Thames Bowling Club begins in April and runs until the middle of October. During the winter months, many club members also engage in indoor short mat bowling.
