Join the Trail Running Association of Queensland at the Walkabout Creek Trail Race, a stunning event taking place at Enoggera Reservoir in The Gap. Whether you're a seasoned trail runner looking to push your limits or new to the sport and seeking a social run with friends, this event caters to all levels of experience. The 12.5 km course with 450m of elevation provides a true test of your trail running abilities.
Those interested in taking part must be 16 years or older on the day of the race, with participants aged between 16 and 18 requiring a signed waiver from a parent or guardian. Registration is available online, with entry fees set at $55.00 for non-TRAQ members and $49.50 for TRAQ members.
Mark your calendars for Sunday, 28 April 2024 (TBC) and lace up your trail shoes for a 6.30am start time. The course features a mix of terrains, including flat stretches, challenging hills, wide fire trails, and narrow single tracks to keep you on your toes throughout the race.
Remember to bring at least 500ml of water for your hydration needs, as there will be no water or sports drink available along the course. The event is also cup-free, so make sure to bring your own reusable bottle or cup for post-race refreshments.
After the race, treat yourself to morning tea, water, and sports drinks provided for all participants and volunteers. Coffee will be available for purchase at the finish line, allowing you to refuel and recover after your race efforts. To ensure smooth access to the event, consider carpooling or arranging drop-offs due to limited parking availability. Stick to designated parking areas within the SEQWater reserved zone and avoid parking along the road. Set your alarms early, as gates open from 5.30am to 6.15am and then re-open from 8.00am to 2.00pm for your convenience.
