Wakatipu Croquet Club

Welcome to the Wakatipu Croquet Club, located in Kelvin Heights near Queenstown. The club boasts excellent facilities and equipment, and warmly welcomes new members. For those new to the game, free tuition and equipment are available.

Our club facilities are situated in our own sheltered area of Jardine Park in Kelvin Heights. We have four well-maintained croquet lawns, each with player rest areas, making them among the best in New Zealand. Our clubhouse features a large meeting room, kitchen, and toilets. We also have a wide range of equipment available for club members to use, and ample parking space for convenience.

On Club Days, members have the opportunity to play informally together. New members are encouraged to come and try out croquet with us, as free coaching and equipment are provided. Club Days take place every Tuesday and Thursday from 10am to 4pm, with a combination of Association Croquet (AC) and Golf Croquet (GC) being played. On Saturdays, both GC and AC are played from 10am to 4pm, with winter starting at 11am.

Playing in the morning is more casual, while afternoon play is more organised. If you wish to play in the afternoon, please arrive by 12:45pm to register for a 1pm start.

Club membership offers a variety of benefits, allowing members to play croquet anytime and utilise our clubhouse facilities. Experienced club members are eager to coach those who want to learn, and club equipment is available for those who do not have their own mallets. For those interested in competition, we have several interclub and club competitions that you can join. If you prefer a more relaxed atmosphere, you can enjoy a chat, coffee, and a few friendly rounds with players of different levels.

Membership fees are as follows: Full Members – $150 per year ($120 for the first year), Students – $50 per year, Country & Social Members – $30 per year. Full Membership grants full access to the facilities and allows play on any day. Country Membership is designed for visitors who are full financial members of another club but frequently visit our club and wish to stay connected. Social Membership is for those who want to maintain an association with the club but do not play regularly, and they are entitled to three days of play per season outside social occasions.

Green fees for club days are $5 per day for members ($10 for visitors), and members of other clubs and family of club members pay a guest fee of $5 each time they play, accompanied by a club member.
