Hazel Hayes started riding at a young age and was a member of the Pony Club. With vast experience in yard work and horse care, Hazel is especially passionate about equine nutrition and making sure every horse at Upton Pyne Equestrian Centre (UPEC) gets the best care. She coordinates with vets and farriers to keep all horses in top health, and she’s always around to help riders achieve their goals.
And let’s not forget Cookie, the ever-enthusiastic Jack Russell! Cookie loves keeping an eye on the yard, joining the horses on walks, and is always up for a game of fetch. This little canine team member ensures everyone gets their daily dose of cuddles and fun.
At UPEC, you’ll find top-notch facilities and a friendly atmosphere tailored to you and your horse’s needs. From full livery to holiday livery, they’ve got it covered. The centre boasts large, modern stable blocks, a washroom, and secure fencing for 24-hour supervision.
Their 90m × 30m manege and horse walker provide excellent spaces for training and exercise. For those who love jumping, there’s a great selection of show-jumps and cross-country fences. UPEC offers tuition for all levels, and you can either bring your own instructor or work with their experienced trainers.
Regular dressage and show-jumping competitions at the centre give riders the chance to test their skills and have fun. Training clinics are available for all abilities, with updates on their Facebook page. The weekly vet clinic, managed by a specialist equine vet, ensures your horse’s health is always in check. Plus, the fast rug cleaning and repair service keeps your horse’s gear in great condition.
