About

The Dayboro Pool & Gym, a swimming club in Moreton Bay Regional, is excited to promote the 2022 Anywhere Festival taking place in Moreton Bay. This month-long event is sure to bring life, joy, and colour to the region after the recent flooding event.

The festival will showcase live performances in various locations throughout the region. From streets and parks to community halls and urban spaces, there will be a vibrant atmosphere wherever you go. Even local businesses are getting involved to make this festival a truly unique experience.

With a fantastic lineup of talented local performers, the festival program offers something for everyone. Circus acts, Shakespearean plays, contemporary dance, musical theatre, comedy shows, country hoedowns, and even costume-making workshops will be part of the entertainment. Whether you're looking for free events or reasonably priced ticketed shows, there's plenty to choose from.

Running from May 14 to June 5, the festival aims to activate places and spaces throughout the region. It's a chance to explore new areas and discover hidden gems right in your own backyard. Each location offers a unique experience, creating anticipation and excitement for both performers and audiences alike.

The festival kicks off on May 14-15 in Redcliffe, Scarborough, and Woody Point. The opening weekend promises some incredible highlights, such as a dance flash mob in Bee Gees Way, an ABBA k-roke with Moreton Bay Big Band, and even a Pooch Parade.

On May 21-22, the festival will be in Strathpine and North Lakes, with free performances of Disappearing Acts by Vulcana Circus in Pine Rivers Park and Instant Romeo & Juliet by The Queensland Shakespeare Ensemble at Lake Eden.

The third weekend takes the festival to Caboolture Hub and Town Square on May 28, with additional performances in Morayfield, Burpengary, and Bribie Island on May 29. Exciting highlights of this weekend include a Monster Mash costume-making workshop, a contemporary dance installation by Emma Wilson Projects, and performances by Moreton Youth Music Ensemble and Blue Tac's punk-rock show for kids.

During the final week, the festival heads west to Dayboro and Samford. Get ready for improv comedy at Ocean View Estates, Vixens of Fall at Dayboro, and a jam-packed finale day in John Scott Park in Samford on June 5.

To join in on the festival fun, simply make your bookings for all shows online via the Anywhere Festival website. By participating in this event, not only will you get to enjoy amazing performances, but you'll also be supporting talented artists and contributing to the thriving arts and culture scene in the Moreton Bay region. It's a win-win for everyone!
