Hello Sports Community,
Mike, the organiser, wants to share some exciting news about Tyersal Club in Bradford, West Yorkshire. Tyersal Club, founded by the local residents back in 1938, has a rich history and still thrives as a social hub today.
Back in the day, this place was buzzing with up to six shows a week. Big names like Billy Fury, Marti Wild, Smokey, Frank Carson, and Charlie Williams graced the stage. Though the original wooden building stands, there are now lovely additions including a spacious lounge, games room and a popular concert room.
These days, Tyersal Club boasts a host of attractions. There's a big-screen TV for all the latest sports events, weekly live music, bingo, race nights, and snooker tables. Plus, there’s a function room with a bar and stage, perfect for weddings and events, accommodating up to 200 guests.
Mike loves the community spirit at Tyersal Club. They have the “Young At Heart” programme every other week, a cracking social group for adults. For the young’uns, youth clubs are on Mondays and Thursdays, thanks to Primetime and Leeds Council. And for the tiny tots, there’s Tyersal Tots every Friday, offering a fun social scene for pre-schoolers.
Joining Tyersal Club is simple. Pop by, fill out an application, and the committee will review it. Membership for 2022 is £15 for 12 months, and you can join anytime. Payments are taken in cash or card, but note, fees aren’t refundable. Membership lapses after a year, but renewing is a doddle.
