Truro Pilates, located in Truro city centre, is a Pilates studio offering a range of classes and sessions to improve overall health and well-being. The studio is owned and operated by Julia Hart, a highly experienced movement teacher with a background in dance.
At Truro Pilates, clients can choose from a variety of class options. Mat classes are held on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday mornings and provide a dynamic and flowing Pilates experience. These classes aim to strengthen the body, improve movement patterns, posture, and breathing. Suitable for all fitness levels, mat classes are a great way to improve flexibility, muscle tone, and bone density.
With regular practise, clients can expect better posture, increased joint mobility, and reduced stress levels.
For a more personalised experience, Truro Pilates offers private or semi-private studio sessions. These sessions utilise specialised Pilates equipment such as the Reformer, Cadillac, Chair, and Barrels. With the guidance of Julia Hart, clients can target specific areas of the body, build strength, and improve overall muscular and skeletal function. Whether recovering from an injury or looking to enhance athletic performance, studio sessions provide tailored exercises to meet individual needs and goals.
Julia Hart's approach to teaching emphasises the importance of movement in improving quality of life. With her extensive training and experience, she aims to help clients incorporate Pilates principles into their daily routines for long-lasting health benefits. By focusing on deep postural muscles and restoring optimal muscular and skeletal function, Pilates can improve posture, flexibility, strength, and overall well-being.
Julia Hart brings a wealth of expertise to Truro Pilates. She originally trained in dance at The Central School of Ballet in London and performed with the Scottish Ballet as a professional dancer. Her passion for Pilates began during her dance career, and she continued her Pilates education in California with Body Arts and Science International (BASI Pilates). In addition, she has studied under renowned teachers such as Alan Herdman, Lolita San Miguel, Michele Larsson, Junghee Won, and Blossom.
Julia has also completed the Vertical Workshop Teacher Intensives with Shari Berkowitz, focusing on modern biomechanics and functional anatomy in the Classical Pilates method.
In addition to her Pilates qualifications, Julia holds certifications in L3 Anatomy & Physiology, L3 Pre & Post Natal, and L3 GP Exercise Referral. When she's not teaching Pilates, she enjoys looking after her three children and going on walks along the coast with her sausage dog, Lola.
