Founded in 2013 by Kim Fraser, our dance school is located in Torquay on the beautiful Surf Coast. With our state-of-the-art studios and a team of highly trained teachers, we offer a wide range of dance classes to suit every interest and level of experience.
Our classes include Classical Ballet, Jazz/Hip Hop, Contemporary, Stretch/Acro, Musical Theatre, Tap, Boys only Breakdancing, Adults Dance, Pointe, and Tinkerballerinas. In 2020, we moved into our new purpose-built dance facility, equipped with four large studios, Tarkett flooring, mirrors, and barres. This new space allows us to accommodate over 200 students each week, coming from all across the Surf Coast.
Our team of passionate teachers is dedicated to nurturing each student and their love of dance. We prioritise providing strong technical foundations and skills through our professional level of training. At Torquay Dance Academy, we also offer specialised classes for our youngest dancers through our Tinkerdance programme. Tinkerdance provides under 5's classes that introduce them to the magic of dance. These classes focus on the principles of classical ballet, using imaginative storytelling and props to create a fun and engaging experience.
In addition to our regular classes, we also offer examinations and pointe classes for those interested in pursuing a more structured dance education. Our experienced teachers prepare students for examinations, ensuring they develop the necessary skills and technique to succeed.
