Combining both clubs in the mid-1960s, Torbay Sailing Club began its journey. Initially operating from a tent on the beachfront, the club grew in popularity. Eventually, new clubrooms were built in 1964 with the assistance of a Golden Kiwi Grant. Later fundraising efforts allowed for the construction of more permanent clubrooms in the 1980s, followed by the current clubhouse in 2016.
