Able to connect with themselves and with others, allowing for a deeper sense of self-awareness and peace.
Tomo Kuramasu, the founder and instructor of Tomo yoga, started her yoga practice in 2003 in Tokyo. She discovered the calming effects of deep breathing and mindfulness during her practice, which helped her manage stress from her fast-paced career as an accountant. After moving to Vancouver in 2010, Tomo completed her RYT 200-hour training at Yyoga college in 2011. With her background in accounting and her passion for yoga, Tomo brings a unique perspective to her classes.
Tomo's classes are suitable for all levels, and she provides modifications for different postures so that participants can comfortably connect with their breath and bodies. Her classes incorporate a blend of physical challenge and emotional relaxation, allowing students to find balance and peace in their practice. Tomo creates a welcoming and inclusive environment where everyone can feel supported on their yoga journey.
Located at Scotia Dance Centre on Davie Street in Vancouver, Tomo yoga offers a variety of classes ranging from gentle and stretchy to flow and sweaty, catering to all levels of practice. The studio provides a safe and nurturing space for individuals to explore yoga and connect with themselves and others. With a focus on balance, deep breathing, and strength-building, Tomo yoga aims to help students achieve physical and mental well-being.
