Tivyside Riding Club, based in the Cardigan area of Ceredigion, Wales, is affiliated with British Riding Clubs (BRC) and forms part of BRC Area 21. The club, with around one hundred members, offers a range of activities for riders of all disciplines.
The club regularly takes part in Area competitions, including Dressage, Show Jumping, Horse Trials, and Hunter Trials. Tivyside members have seen notable success on the national stage, winning the BRC National Open Show Jumping Championships and the BRC National Novice Horse Trials Championships. They have also secured top positions in the BRC National Dressage, Show Jumping, and Horse Trials Championships.
Tivyside Riding Club also hosts social events such as stud visits, dinners, and boot sales, providing members with opportunities to connect and enjoy the equestrian community.
Instructional rallies are organised at Dyfed Riding Centre in Cardigan and Bailey Farm in Llangoedmor, Cardigan. These rallies offer members valuable learning experiences with expert instruction aimed at improving their riding skills.
Throughout winter, Tivyside Riding Club holds a range of Winter League Shows, including Dressage, Show Jumping, and Members Only shows. These events provide members with a supportive and friendly environment to showcase their abilities.
The club is open to new members, welcoming riders and non-riders of all ages. Juniors are particularly encouraged to join and take part in the club’s various activities and competitions.
The club is managed by a dedicated committee consisting of Petra James (Chairman), Sarah Lewis (Secretary and Newsletter Coordinator), Dawn Hodson (Treasurer), Rianne Fulton (Website Coordinator), Jenny Linfoot (Minutes Secretary), Muriel Gill (Rally Secretary), and committee members Wendy Roberts, Netty Jukes, Tracy Maczka, Chia James, Sheila Coles, and Ruth Maczka (Membership Secretary).
