Tiska Karate, a leading martial arts school in North London, offers classes in Mill Hill, Edgware, Hendon, Finchley, and Hornsey. Whether you're a beginner or an advanced practitioner, Tiska Karate welcomes all ages and abilities.
Gursharan Sahota, an 8th Dan black belt and the Chief Instructor, brings years of expertise to Tiska Karate. His passion for karate started at 14 and led him to achieve his black belt by 18. Over the years, Gursharan has excelled in kata and kumite events nationally and internationally. A pivotal moment in his journey was training in Japan under Sensei Hirokazu Kanazawa in 1984, solidifying his dedication to karate.
In 1993, Gursharan founded TISKA (The Traditional International Shotokan Karate Association), which has grown into one of the UK's largest karate associations. Today, he runs over 35 classes weekly and has guided numerous students to black belt level and beyond. His commitment to karate also sees him conducting master classes internationally.
Gursharan is also deeply involved in charity work, helping fund surgical trips for underprivileged children and various projects in India. He resides in Buckinghamshire with his family, who also share an interest in karate.
At Tiska Karate, students develop physical fitness, confidence, and self-defence skills in a supportive environment that emphasises growth, discipline, and respect. The school fosters a strong sense of community and encourages personal development through karate.
