“The Yoga Practise” is a prominent yoga studio located in Glasgow, Scotland. Established in 2019, the studio aims to create a welcoming and inclusive environment for individuals of all ages and abilities. The studio is affiliated with Little Greene Yoga, an esteemed yoga and meditation collective.
At “The Yoga Practise,” the essence of yoga is embodied through the harmonisation of mind, body, and spirit. The Sanskrit word “yoga” translates to “union” or “joining,” symbolising the practise's ability to bring individuals into a state of balance and unity. Whether one seeks stress relief, physical fitness, increased flexibility, lower blood pressure, improved lung capacity, pain relief, or simply a fun experience, yoga offers something for everyone.
The yoga classes at “The Yoga Practise” cater to various age groups, including adults, teenagers, children, and postnatal mothers. These classes are integrated into a weekly timetable, ensuring flexibility and convenience for participants. Additionally, the studio provides specialised yoga programmes for primary and secondary schools, including in-house training for school teachers. This initiative, known as “Yoga for all stages of life,” focuses on fostering resilience and well-being among students.
Since 2006, “The Yoga Practise,” in collaboration with Little Greene Yoga, has been offering adult, kids, teen, postnatal, and pregnancy yoga classes in the Southside of Glasgow. In 2019, the studio itself was established, marking a significant milestone for the organisation. Prior to this, classes were conducted in hired venues.
” The Yoga Practise” also recognises the importance of adapting to the digital age. In 2020, the studio developed “The Practise ONLINE,” an online platform that offers various options for virtual yoga classes. These include monthly memberships and 4 to 6-week courses in adult yoga, restorative yoga, postnatal yoga, menopause yoga, and yoga teacher trainings. These classes feature professionally recorded videos and live-streaming sessions, allowing participants to engage in yoga from the comfort of their own homes.
In line with its commitment to cater to all age groups, “The Yoga Practise” offers dedicated yoga programmes specifically designed for kids and teenagers. Little Greene Yoga, the first Registered Children's Yoga School in Scotland certified by Yoga Alliance Professionals, provides a comprehensive developmental syllabus for children aged 3 to 18. Likewise, the studio offers specialised teen yoga classes that recognise the unique physical and emotional changes experienced during adolescence.
Aspiring yoga teachers can also find their place at “The Yoga Practise. ” The studio offers certified yoga teacher training courses through its affiliation with Little Greene Yoga Training school. These courses include Kids Yoga Teacher Training, Teen Yoga Teacher Training, Restorative Yoga Teacher Training, Postnatal Yoga Teacher Training, and a 200-hour Teacher Training with module choices. These courses cover the entire 3 to 18-year curriculum and are delivered by LGY-certified instructors. Through resilience training and yoga sessions integrated into school routines, students are provided with valuable tools in mindfulness and breathing techniques.
For postnatal mothers, “The Yoga Practise” presents a specialised Postnatal Rebuild programme. Since 2005, this programme has been helping women regain their strength and restore their bodies after childbirth. Mothers are encouraged to attend the classes with their babies, where they will focus on anatomical realignment, lengthening shortened muscles, strengthening weakened muscles, and overall postnatal body reconstruction.
