Rosie Howard, the Principal of the Pauline Quirke Academy of Performing Arts Coventry (PQA Coventry), wants to reach out to the sports community about the fantastic opportunities available for kids and young adults in performing arts. Located at Westwood Academy on Mitchell Avenue, Coventry, PQA Coventry is a thriving hub where students can dive into Comedy & Drama, Musical Theatre, and Film & Television.
Rosie runs two Academies to suit everyone's schedule. The morning one goes from 9:45 am to 1:00 pm, and the afternoon session is from 1:45 pm to 5:00 pm. She's dedicated to offering a creative space where students can truly develop their talents.
To get involved or find out more, folks can email Rosie directly at [email protected] or call her on 07710 519690. There are different fee options, making it easier for families: primary students pay £92.00 per month, siblings pay £69.00, and the little ones in Poppets classes are £46.00 monthly.
Rosie’s team is passionate about the performing arts. There’s Ryan, the Film & Television expert, Lauren, the Vice Principal, and Elliott, the Academy Assistant. Together, they bring a wealth of knowledge to guide students in classes that cover everything from singing, dancing, and acting in Musical Theatre, to the ins and outs of the screen in Film & Television, and the finesse of theatrical techniques in Comedy & Drama.
PQA Coventry isn't just about classes – they also offer some brilliant extras. If there’s ever a lockdown or venue issue, PQA Live keeps the classes going online. Students get to perform on West End stages, gain RSL PQA qualifications, join industry-led masterclasses, and show off their talents in at least two performances a year. Plus, they can see their own films at local cinema screenings.
Rosie and her team are all about nurturing young talent and providing a supportive community. PQA Coventry is a place where children and young adults can explore the exciting world of performing arts and realise their potential. So, whether your kids are into sports or performing, PQA Coventry could be their next big thing.
