The Pauline Quirke Academy of Performing Arts Cardiff

The Pauline Quirke Academy of Performing Arts Cardiff is a vibrant and dedicated performing arts school located in Cardiff, Wales. Offering a wide range of classes for kids and young adults, including Comedy & Drama, Musical Theatre, and Film & Television, PQA Cardiff aims to nurture and develop the talents of its students while providing a safe and supportive environment.

Operating every Saturday from Ysgol Treganna, the academy welcomes students aged 6–18 years from Cardiff, Newport, Penarth, Cowbridge, Bridgend, Brecon, Monmouth, Pembroke, Blackwood and other areas of South Wales. With classes running from 9:45am to 1pm and 1:45pm to 5pm, PQA Cardiff offers flexibility to accommodate various schedules.

Led by a team of experienced industry professionals, the academy focuses on maximising the potential of its students. Through the delivery of high-quality lessons, young performers are given the opportunity to explore new creative worlds while having a great time. Whether it's through musicals, plays, or films, students at PQA Cardiff can showcase their talents and gain valuable experience.

The academy also offers added benefits to its members. In the event of national or localised lockdowns, bad weather, pandemics, or lack of venue availability, PQA Cardiff runs its classes virtually through PQA Live. This ensures that students can continue their training without interruption. Additionally, PQA Cardiff provides opportunities for students to perform on stage at top West End theatres, as well as the chance to earn RSL PQA qualifications and participate in masterclasses led by industry professionals.

The team at PQA Cardiff is led by Principal Tom Barker, who is passionate about nurturing young talent and creating a supportive and inspiring environment for students to thrive. Assisted by a dedicated team including Musical Theatre teacher Celyn, Academy Assistant Georgina, Vice Principal Laura, and Film and Television teacher Jack, PQA Cardiff ensures that every student receives high-quality instruction and guidance.
