The Nottingham Sailing Club

The Nottingham Sailing Club is a welcoming and friendly sailing school and club located on the picturesque River Trent near West Bridgford and the National Water Sports Centre in Nottingham. With a membership of around 250, the club offers a range of activities including racing, cruising, training, and social events.

Racing is a major focus of the club, with races held on Saturdays and Sundays from March to October, as well as Thursday evenings from mid-April to late August. Additionally, there is a Sunday frostbite series in November and December. The racing season reaches its peak with a traditional Open Meeting on Boxing Day each year.

For those who are new to sailing, the club is a recognised RYA training centre and offers courses for complete beginners in dinghy sailing. The club also actively encourages junior sailors and holds specific junior sailing sessions on Saturday mornings from late April to mid-October.

Members of the club have the opportunity to sail their boats at any time during the week. Organised cruising times are also available on Tuesday evenings during the summer and on the first Sunday afternoon of each month from May to September.

In addition to racing and training, the club hosts a variety of social events throughout the year. The Club Regatta, held in July, offers a whole weekend of social activities in addition to racing and fun sailing events.

The club facilities include a slipway and dry landing stages for boat launching and recovery, ensuring that members can enjoy their sailing without getting wet feet. For spectators, the club's location on the river bank provides a close-up view of all the action.
