Mark “Spen” Spencer holds various impressive sports qualifications, including a 5th Dan Black Belt in Kick Boxing from Cobra (awarded in February 2020), a 2nd Dan Black Belt in Kick-Jitsu from Cobra (awarded in February 2010), a 2nd Degree Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu from SBG (awarded in July 2022), and a Black Belt in IMMAF (International Mixed Martial Arts Federation) (awarded in December 2020). Additionally, he holds a 1st Kyu Brown Belt in Kudo, a Brown Belt in Japanese Jiu-Jitsu from Kickers Black Belt Academy, and a Level 1 Coach certification in Combat Submission Wrestling from CSW (awarded in December 2017).

The list of his qualifications continues with achievements such as being an Instructor in Sangoku (Combat Base) in 2001, holding a Green Belt in Freestyle Karate from BMAA, being a Kettle Bell Instructor from Creating Chaos, and having Level 3 and Level 2 certifications in Personal Training and Fitness Instruction respectively from Innervate Training. Throughout his career, Mark “Spen” Spencer has held several esteemed positions in the martial arts world. He has served as the Head Coach of EMMAA Youth for a period of 3 years, Head Coach of EMMAA Adults and Junior for 2 years, and Head Coach of the UKMMAF Junior Team for 1 year. In addition, he has coached the UKMMA Team for 3 years and has been the Head Coach and Owner of Team Fulinkazan for an impressive 15 years. Mark has also been the Head Coach of the Bradford Uni Mixed Martial Arts Society for 11 years and the Grappling Coach for “The Fight Lab” for 3 years.

He has worked as a Personal Trainer for Kirklees Council for 1 year and as an MMA Coach for Caged Steel Academy for 2 years. Furthermore, he has provided MMA and Grappling coaching for Tiger Muay Thai in Leeds for 1 year and served as the Under 12s Rugby League Coach at Wyke Middle School for 1 year.

In terms of his own competition record, Mark “Spen” Spencer has fought as a professional Mixed Martial Arts Fighter internationally and on Cage Warriors. His accomplishments include winning the Bronze Medal in the Kudo Rome open championship in 2022, winning the Gold Medal in the British Masters BJJ in the Ultra Heavy Weight (Masters 2) category in 2018, and winning the Silver Medal in the British Masters BJJ in the Heavy Weight (Masters 1) category in the same year. He has also secured several championships and medals in various other competitions, such as the Ren Bu Ki 90 kg Submission Grappling Champion in 2006 and the Tori Luta Open Weight Champion in 2001.

Apart from Mark's impressive achievements, The Fight Coach takes pride in the accomplishments of its MMA and BJJ (Grappling) students. Notable achievements include a European IMMAF Gold Medallist in Joanne Doyle, a World IMMAF Silver Medallist, a European IMMAF Bronze Medallist, a World JR IMMAF Gold Medallist in Megan Morris, a European IMMAF Silver Medallist in Megan Morris, a UK, and Ireland bantamweight ranked Number 1 in Danny Stirk, a European IBJJF Brown belt champion in Nam Hoang, a UK, and Ireland featherweight ranked Number 1 in Jabeed Rahman, and a UK and Ireland featherweight ranked Number 2 in Callum Mullen. Additionally, The Fight Coach has produced champions in Total Combat, CSFC, Burnley Brawl, and UCFC, with fighters such as James Saville, Said Khan, Lee Jones, Nigel Halmshaw, and Kevin Mullen securing titles in their respective weight divisions.
