At The Boatshed, we have a diverse fleet of boats that are perfectly suited for sail training. We have Tackers Optimists, Hansas, and Pacers, all of which are constantly maintained and improved to ensure their safety and reliability. Additionally, our fleet of rescue boats is always ready to provide support and ensure the safety of our participants on the water.
Located in Albert Park, Victoria, The Boatshed is in proximity to sailing clubs and the beautiful Albert Park Lake. With our status as Australian Sailing's flagship training centre in Victoria, we have a rich history in providing access to sailing for all. For over 150 years, people have been sailing on Albert Park Lake, and we continue that tradition by offering comprehensive sail training and experiences.
Our mission is to support and complement Victoria's sailing clubs by delivering high-quality training and making sailing accessible to everyone. We aim to have 4,000-5,000 individuals participating in sailing each year through our programmes. With our large fleet of boats, Sailability equipment, and dedicated instructors, we have the capacity to provide training and experiences for schools, community groups, corporate customers, and individuals who may not have access to these resources through traditional sailing clubs.
Creating a fun and safe learning environment is at the core of everything we do. We have rigorous safety policies and qualifications in place, and we continuously work to ensure the physical and emotional safety of all participants. Our goal is to help as many people as possible experience the joy of sailing, build their skills, and ultimately become members of their local sailing club.
