Theatretrain Loughton

Theatretrain Loughton is a performing arts group and drama school located in Loughton, Essex. Founded by Kevin Dowsett, a renowned theatre professional who has taught at Italia Conti and trained stars such as Catherine Tate, Theatretrain offers professional training in singing, dancing, and acting for children of all ages.

The main focus at Theatretrain is to develop the core theatrical skills that children need to perform. From vocal skills to movement and storytelling, the classes aim to build confidence and individuality. Theatretrain Loughton offers sessions for different age groups. The Main Company sessions, for ages 6-18, are rehearsals for performances that take place later in the year. These sessions are held at Roding Valley High School on Saturdays from 10am-1pm.

For younger children, Theatretrain offers the Junior Ensemble sessions, known as TT Minis, for ages 4-5. These fun and engaging sessions introduce the basic skills of storytelling, imagination, and stagecraft. Junior Ensemble sessions take place at Roding Valley High School on Saturdays from 9:30am-11am and 11:30am-1pm.

Theatretrain Loughton also plans to introduce a Junior Ensemble for children aged 3, called TT Tinies, in the near future.
