Halifax Harriers is excited to announce the upcoming Pete White Memorial Calderdale Way Relay on May 19th, 2024. This year, the race will honour the memory of Pete White, who was instrumental in creating the event nearly four decades ago.
The race will kick off at Clay House and culminate at Halifax Harriers HQ at Spring Hall. To register a team, interested players can easily fill out an online form and pay the £120 entry fee per team on the club's website.
With a minimum age requirement of 18 for most runners (except Leg 3 participants who must be at least 16), the race offers various veteran categories starting at over 40 for both male and female athletes. All team members are expected to don their club colours during the event.
Participants should note that full kit is mandatory for legs 1, 2, and 4, while requirements for other legs will be dependent on weather conditions. The race, licensed by the Fell Runners Association, will strictly adhere to FRA rules.
This year's race is limited to 100 teams on a first-come, first-served basis, with entries closing on May 5th, 2024. Clubs from near and far are encouraged to join, with a free camping field available at the Causeway Foot Inn for those needing overnight accommodation.
Interested runners can reach out to Nigel Rigg at [email protected] for additional details. Don't miss the chance to win bonus prizes for Record Breaking teams and pairs, with an exciting total value of £1,800 up for grabs.
To enhance their race experience, participants are urged to attend the Calderdale Way Relay Recce Runs on May 4th, 2024, to familiarise themselves with the course.
