The Bramcote SC Academy is thrilled to announce a brand new swimming event that is sure to excite all swimming enthusiasts in Nottingham! Our swimming club, the Bramcote Swimming Club, is hosting this event to bring together talented young swimmers from all around the area.
Open to children aged 4–8 years, the Academy programme is dedicated to preparing these young swimmers for club swimming. We understand that your child may already have swimming lessons at their current swim school, so our Academy sessions are designed to complement and enhance their existing training.
Led by our fantastic team of Swim England Level 2 qualified swimming teachers, our Academy sessions take place in the Main Pool at Bramcote Leisure Centre and at The Lenton Centre. We take pride in the safety and well-being of our swimmers, which is why all our sessions are supervised by a qualified lifeguard and conducted by teachers who have undergone safeguarding training and DBS checks.
At the Bramcote SC Academy, we believe in progression and recognise the achievements of our swimmers. When swimmers demonstrate the correct skills, they will have the opportunity to join our main squads, such as the Skill Development Squads 1, 2, and 3. Our dedicated Academy teachers and Development Squad coaches will guide them throughout this journey.
For those who are already part of another swim school, we offer a 'once a week' option in our Academy Beginners and Academy 1 and 2. This allows swimmers to continue with their swim school lessons while easing into the world of club swimming.
Competitions are an integral part of the swimming experience, and at the Bramcote SC Academy, we provide our swimmers with several opportunities to showcase their skills. All our Academy swimmers are invited to participate in the annual club championships and badge galas. Additionally, we are proud to collaborate with the leisure centre swim school and other local clubs to organise the exciting annual Broxtowe trophy gala.
To join the Bramcote Swimming Club and participate in our events, it is necessary for all members to also join Swim England, our affiliated club. This membership not only includes insurance but also entitles swimmers to represent the club in competitions. There is an annual membership fee of £26 (£44 for Squad Development swimmers), which is paid once a year upon joining and in January thereafter. Monthly subscriptions to the BSC Academy are conveniently paid by standing order.
